Sweet Adelines International, a non-profit music education association for women founded in 1945, endows its' members with a mastery of 4-part unaccompanied harmony, barbershop style, one of the few forms of music native to the United States.  Performances and competitions develop members' confidence and pride in their achievements.  International membership of nearly 30,000 women includes choruses in most of the fifty United States, as well as in Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany,  Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Wales, and the Netherlands.  The organization encompasses more than 1,200 registered quartets and 600 choruses.

Musical education available to members of Sweet Adelines International would be difficult to duplicate.  Not only do members learn vocal production and music, they also learn choreography, stage production, costuming, makeup, and much more.  Training and certification programs are available in the areas of directing, arranging, judging, and teaching.
